Through our research, we’ve found that typical museum visitors experience frustrations relating to inadequate information provided as well as physical accessibility issues in regards to easily accessing that information.
Patrons found that the museum’s provided placards could often be found behind physical barriers – such as security rope or obscured by crowds – making it difficult for visitors to easily read from a distance. Small font sizes also made the information difficult to read from a distance and in a crowd for some visitors. These issues greatly affected those with mobility and vision limitations who could not get close enough.
In addition, the information provided was typically brief. Often only one to two paragraphs on the artwork, or simply the artwork’s name and artist. Visitors found that they needed to venture beyond the museum’s ecosystem to learn more, such as through search engines on their phones, pay for a tour, or ask an attendant for more information.

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m
designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research was young adults using museums as a source of research or learning.
This user group confirmed initial assumptions about patrons, but research
also revealed that patrons typically struggle with accessibility issues regarding finding information in person – from hard to reach and read placards, to limited information briefs.
In summary, user research uncovered that patrons’ primary pain points stemmed from accessibility issues, limited information, and the inconvenience associated with amending the former issues.
